The ALP-45DP is New Jersey Transit's new dual-mode locomotive. The first units entered revenue service in June 2012 on the Montclair-Boonton line, operating between Hackettstown and Hoboken. Reports are that the units run in electric mode between Hoboken and Montclair State University, where they switch to diesel mode for the remainder of the trip.
