New Jersey Transit's Arrow III cars are electric multiple-unit (MU cars). These cars can run on either the Newark Division (as far as South Amboy on the NJCL) or on the Hoboken Division, but cannot freely interchange due to different catenary voltages. (Each car has a triangular orange sticker indicating its configuration; "12K" indicates 11kV/12.5kV operation for the Newark Division, while "25K" indicates the 25kV of the Hoboken Division.) In order for cars to switch divisions, a transformer must be changed in the shop. These cars come as either single units or as married pairs.
The Princeton Shuttle (Dinky) typically operates with a single Arrow III car; sometimes a pair is used when demand increases.
